This song had 2 lyrical incarnations before it's current form:
Shortly after being recorded, producer Josh Giunta gave his first go at writing lyrics & singing the parts himself... upon sharing, he found his bandmates hysterically amused by his piss poor singing and obvious/cryptic lyric writing- you'll never hear this version.
In it's 2nd life, Josh wrote a love song for a woman he was wooing and sent it to her-- it resulted in a fruitful two year relationship and boosted his lyric writing ego (this version not for public consumption).
Before it's third metamorphosis, Josh realized that in order to continue wooing women, money must be accrued. Enjoy....
lyrics
I really need to make some money
or maybe find some on the street
If I could only find out where the paycheck is
in all biggest dreams, biggest dreams
I’ve got a thing to do done just my way
The trouble is makin’ it pay, makin’ it pay
If I could buy some brand new clothes & some spiffy shoes
I could move on from payin’ these dues, payin’ these dues
I gotta make some, make some, money
Just a little more, little more, Set me free
There’s money to be made if you ain’t afraid
Shout out if you agree (HEYYY!!)
Bouncing checks, credits cards, rolled up coins, working hard
I didn’t chase my dreams to starve
I’m gunna make some money
I gotta make some, make some, money
Just a little more, little more, Set me free
People say what I do is great
But they get all funny when I mention the rate
I just need a little, don’t need to be rich
I’ll take any county’s currency, it doesn’t matter which
I gotta make some, make some, MONEY
Just a little more, little more, Set me free
There’s money to be made if you ain’t afraid
Shout out if you agree (HEYYY!!)
Bouncing checks, credits cards, rolled up coins, working hard
I didn’t chase my dreams to starve
I’m gunna make some money
